Zebras choose lions as their neighbors...

It is a mid afternoon in Africa. The sun burns like the hell. The forest of Savanna seems crumbling in the mirage of desert. But that is not the forest. It is a herd of zebras are grazing there. No flies in this hot climate. Predators are already gone to the shadow of trees. Skin look like prisoner’s outfit protects zebras from poisonous sunlight. The sunlight of millions of years grilled them like a barbecue. Until today, nobody knows whether black stripes are on white? Or white stripes are on black?

This long “coffee break” time is only destined to zebras. Whole afternoon they eat and eat. All heads are down and nothing to be cautious. Whom they are eating for? They are eating for lions.
When the sun is about to down, they all follow eldest one to the water. Eaten, drunken, and stomach is full now. Only one work left to do is not to become a “steak” for beasts.

A herd of zebras grouped in packs. Young and strong stallion protects the group but the eldest mare manages and leads the group. Every zebra has unique stripes which has no copy ever. However, flocks have private characteristics of stripes. Mares give birth every year same as horse mares do. Mother and baby zebras spend several days together alone after birth because they need to be familiar with their stripes, smells and voices.
Boss stallion keeps his male siblings till 3 or 4 years old in his group. They are supportive to him. Stallion that has many sons no need to worry about protecting group while unwelcome outsider attacks the group. Daughters mostly 1 year old are stolen by young outsider stallions for new herds.

A herd keeps their foals in the center of group and escapes when beasts attack. More accuracy of getting close to each other means more survivability of escaping. Because a herd ensembles one whole black and white illusionary view to make beasts dizzy. But one always abandoned by misadventure. That zebra is absolutely steak for predators.

When hyenas began to gather around, herds of zebras join together and move to the land of lions. Lions are much noble. Lion king hunts only one zebra when he is hungry. When he is full, zebra looks like rubber toy in his eyes. Lions that already got enough steaks sleep under the shadow of trees. Right beside them, dozens of zebras pasture peacefully. Zebras exactly know the atmosphere of what lions are up to.
Hyenas are obviously from the hell. They are too many. Never gets enough of eating. All chase and hunt, even baby hyenas. Hunts, eats, hunts and eats. They do not stop. Once zebras are neighboring to lions, troubles from hyenas stop. Hyenas are in lack of morale and luck to attack the knights of lion king. At this point they only could howl for nonsense and disappear, nothing more, whereas zebras are gone when lions wake up once in the morning.

Now zebras don’t need lions.
